Bob Kelly FOX 29 Assaulted Down the Shore at Sea Isle Charity Event as a Result of a Tik Tok Challenge

A guy named Patrick is accused of punching Fox 29 Traffic reporter Bob Kelly during a charity event in Sea Isle on the last weekend in July. The accused, who is 21, is charged with simple assault. Kelly did not appear on Good Day Philadelphia probably because the accused was scheduled to appear in court today. Perhaps Kelly was there. The incident was apparently a TikTok challenge stunt where Tik Tok-ers film themselves pouring a liquid on a celebrity. No news yet regarding the court appearance.

There are more details about the entire incident at the Sea Isle News

Bob Kelly didn't miss a beat and returned to work to address the issue on Good Day. Video below.

Michael Rubin Throws His Annual White Party in the Hamptons Featuring Current Sixers James Harden, Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey

The summer season in the Hamptons is known for its lavish parties and star-studded events. Among the most anticipated gatherings is Michael Rubin's annual White Party, which brings together celebrities, athletes, and influencers for a night of glamour and celebration. This year's edition was no exception, as current Philadelphia 76ers players James Harden, Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Tyrese Maxey graced the exclusive event with their presence and joined the who's who from Kim Kardashian, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Emily Ratajkowski, Tom Brady Kevin Hart, and international soccer star Kylian Mbappé.

James Harden and the other Philadelphia 76ers stars and with Sixers owner Josh Harris were partying together in light of reports that Harden wanted to be traded away from the team. This night might signal a reconciliation between James Harden and the team. Are the Sixers bringing back the same team for the 2023-24 season?

FOX 29 Alex Holley and Lauren Johnson Are Daily News Sexy Singles

FOX 29's fairly new morning anchors make this year's Daily New Sexy Singles. Alex Holley of Good Day Philadelphia who replaced Sheinelle Jones is featured along with Lauren Johnson of the station's 4:30-7:00 Fox Morning News program. Holley arrived from Myrtle Beach and Johnson from Orlando.

Check out what happens to a cardboard cut out of Alex Holley courtesy of one upright Philadelphia citizen below. Like the tweet says--what happened to the Hitchbot is mild compared to this.

NBC 10 Renee Chenault-Fattah On Leave After Husband's Indictment

Renee Chenault-Fattah long time news anchor and the wife of the indicted United States Representative Chaka Fattah has temporarily left the anchoring chair at NBC 10. Chenault-Fattah was not charged by the U.S. attorney's office but she was mentioned in the 85-page indictment. She was a participant, according to the indictment, in a scheme to falsely report the sale of her 1989 Porsche Carrera convertible to a lobbyist for $18,000.

The Fattahs used the cash to help buy a $425,000 vacation home in the Poconos, but Chenault-Fattah kept the Porsche and even renewed its registration. She has contacted NBC 10 and stated in a letter that the car sale was legal and explains why the car remains at her home.

Rep. Chaka Fattah and others face charges of racketeering, bribery, mail fraud, and money laundering. Pretty serious stuff.

Phillies Cole Hamels Throws No Hitter Against the Cubs

Perhaps starting his last game for the Phillies, Cole Hamels came up with a gem of a performance and a no-hitter against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field in a 5-0 victory. Here's a collection tweets and some pretty cool video from Wrigley, outside Xfinity Live, and Citi Field (???), home of the New York Mets. This was actually the best reaction to the call made by Phillies announcer Tom McCarthy. Could you imagine the reaction if Phillies' center fielder Odubel Herrera didn't come up with the final out and Hamels lost his no-hitter?

If this was Hamels last game, our 2008 World Series MVP went out like a true champion. They're many teams looking to make an offer to the Phillies in an attempt to acquire Cole by the trade deadline on July 31st.

Meisha Johnson Is the NEW Traffic Reporter on CBS 3

Meisha Johnson is the new traffic reporter for Channel 3 (CBS 3 KYW-TV). She comes to Philly by way of the FOX station in Minneapolis-St. Paul. She has also been seen on several PowerSports programs on the Fox Sports Network. So it's not too hard to imagine Channel 3 finding a place for her on their Sunday Morning's Eagles pre-game show broadcasts. Perhaps even traffic reports for the away games too!

Josh Innes Will Be Back on 94 WIP

The ill conceived Innes and Bruno Show self-destructed before our very ears earlier this month when veteran radio host Tony Bruno "retired" from radio. Josh Innes revealed on twitter that he is on a 10 day hiatus from the station as a retooling is taking place. I am of the belief that Josh Inness is not cut out for the Philly market. There was a time over the last year, during his night time show, that his hijinks was toned down. He actually gave some sound opinions and a different perspective from the usual "Chip Kelly can do no wrong" logic out there about the Philadelphia Eagles during the 2014  football season. I became a listener. Then the honchos at 94 WIP (Spike Eskin and Andy Bloom) decided to give Josh Innes an afternoon slot last February. I stopped listening.

Pairing him with Tony Bruno generated number one ratings in the key male demographic. So they were doing something right. The show bested 97.5 The Fanatic host Mike Missanelli and has launched a radio war of sorts between the two FM sports stations in town. Perhaps WIP is thinking of letting Innes go solo. We shall see.

Sean Brace Interviews Kacie McDonnell, She's Still in Kansas City

Former 97.5 The Fanatic host Sean Brace interviews Kacie McDonnell. She of course was the one time morning traffic reporter (and much more) for FOX 29's Good Day. Kacie bolted to Kansas City at the height of her popularity in Philly to follow her then boyfriend (Georgia Bulldog quarterback) Aaron Murray who was drafted into the NFL by the Kansas City Chiefs. Well following their breakup, Kacie remained in Kansas City and gives her fans a career update. By the way Kacie is now dating Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer.

Keith Olbermann Sums Up the Arrogance of New Yorkers

I am not generally a fan of Mr. Olbermann because he comes off as arrogant himself. But he nails it and sums up my general feeling of our neighbors to the north in New York City. The insulting way New Yorkers think and their belief that they are better, smarter, or more important than anyone outside of New York makes me ill. It's one reason I don't trust the owner of our basketball team the Philadelphia 76ers, one Joshua Harris. One day it could be the Newark New Jersey Sixers. He does own the New Jersey Devils hockey team too. But that's a story for another day. The bottom line is this: Soccer will never be a popular sport among Americans no matter what the New York Times says. Any sport that ends with a tie and everyone is OK with it, is a sport that's not for me. My apologies to the Sons of Ben and fans of the Philadelphia Union. Your stadium in Chester is awesome.

By the way Tony Bruno of 97.5 The Fanatic makes a regular Friday appearance on the Keith Olbermann show. So all in all Mr. Olbermann can't be all bad. Tony's take on the DeSean Jackson situation with the Philadelphia Eagles from a few weeks ago is spot on. See both videos below.

Sheinelle Jones Says Goodbye to ‘Good Day Philadelphia’

Sheinelle Jones tearfully bids farewell to FOX 29 and her co-anchor, Mike Jerrick, on “Good Day Philadelphia.” Sheinelle is signing off to spend more time with her family. I am a big fan of Sheinelle, Mike, Sue Serio, and Kacie McDonnell. They simply had great chemistry.

Steve Keeley Survival of Snow Plow Attack on Good Day Goes Viral

Fox 29 reporter Steve Keeley has became a viral sensation following the snow plow train  "attack" along a route in Woodstown, N.J. Keeley was unexpectedly hit with an avalanche of snow, but was no worse for wear and continued with the report as if nothing happened at all. Keeley also became a part of David Letterman's Top 10 List. That list featured in the third video of this post was disappointingly not funny. Good pub for Steve and the station anyway.

Mike Missanelli Returns to 97.5 The Fanatic, Will @Deadspin Retract the Story?

Mike Missanelli gave a statement today on the air on his suspension after being off the air for a week. He addresses why he was absent and apologizes for anyone who may have been offended. He also gave a history of the listener (troll) that has been harassing him with thousands of emails for four of the five years that he has been part of 97.5 The Fanatic. He categorically denied that he is homophobic.

Missanelli went on to say that the listener communicated with him that it would be impossible for authorities to find out the emailer's identity; who refers to himself  as "The Rock" (because he resembles the actor and wrestler). He regrets the perception that the emails that were sent to the Deadspin website implied that he was homophobic. He also stated that he would no longer communicate with listener's through email following this experience.

The Jeff and Josh Show will air weekdays from 3-7:00 p.m.  They will return to Philly from Tampa, where they recently hosted evenings for the past seven years.

"It's hard to leave palm trees and sun, but not when it comes to a station that has been part of our lives since we were kids," said Jeff and Josh.  "We are beyond excited to give everything we have to our new show.  Get ready, Philly, we’re coming home!"

Mike Missanelli Has Been Suspended from 97.5 The Fanatic

Mike Missanelli, the afternoon host at 97.5 The Fanatic has been suspended indefinitely for using homophobic language in an email exchange with a listener who was not a fan of the host.

The suspension came after several emails between Missanelli and the listener were made public by the website Deadspin. Mikey Miss repeatedly called the listener a "homosexual."

Former KYW-TV Channel 3 news anchor Larry Mendte, who knows a thing or two about emails, came to Missanelli's defense in a PhillyMag.com article and says the suspended sports-talk host was “trying to be clinical” with the email troll.

After the announcement of his suspension, Missanelli issued a statement apologizing for his actions.

CBS Partners with NFL for Thursday Night Football

CBS is adding a package of Thursday night games to its already loaded NFL lineup next season.

CBS will simulcast eight games with the NFL Network early in the 2014 season. The remaining eight late-season games will be seen on the NFL Network, which previously aired the entire Thursday Night Football franchise.

“NFL Network built Thursday into a night for NFL fans,” Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. “Our goal is to bring these games to more fans on broadcast television with unprecedented promotion and visibility for Thursday Night Football on CBS.”
