(NBC 10 Press Release) -- To serve the millions of passionate sports fans throughout the region, NBC10 Philadelphia and Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia today announced a new and expansive news programming alliance that will deliver an unprecedented level of sports coverage within more than 700 NBC10 newscasts throughout the year. Beginning in January, Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia’s award-winning sports, news and information will power NBC10’s sports reports, featured in multiple newscasts every day.
Kicking off a new era for daily sports coverage on TV in Philadelphia, this new collaboration will serve the Philadelphia sports community like never before—aligning Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia’s dedicated all-sports staff, which produces over 1,600 hours of award-winning sports news and analysis annually, with NBC10’s unparalleled local newsgathering, weather and traffic expertise. This new collaboration will also benefit from both outlets’ relationship with the larger NBC Sports Group, which presents many of the most-watched sports properties in all of television, including Sunday Night Football and the upcoming 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, beginning February 6.
The combination provides NBC10 with access to the most comprehensive sports TV operation in Philadelphia and resources that no other broadcast affiliate in the region can match.

Daily Sports Coverage
Beginning in January, Comcast SportsNet will produce and provide complete sports coverage for NBC10 newscasts. Comcast SportsNet’s award-winning journalists will contribute to NBC10 newscasts, by providing inside access to coaches, players and movers and shakers in Philadelphia and around the country. NBC10 journalists will continue to contribute to Comcast SportsNet’s sports coverage on Philly Sports Talk, SportsNite, Full Contact and other programs.
