Sports Talk Host Hunter Brody exits “The Best Show Ever?” on Beasley Media Group's sports talk station “97.5 The Fanatic” WPEN-FM. Brody was part of the show that replaced The Mike Missanelli Show in July 2022. Brody worked previously as a weekend host on the station and previously co-hosted afternoons at “97.3 ESPN” WENJ-FM in Millville, NJ. He will continue his Brodes Media YouTube Channel.

“Found out this morning that Beasley Media had to make some cuts and I was unfortunately part of it,” Brody posted on Twitter. “Can’t thank 97.5 The Fanatic enough for the last few years. It was an absolute blast.”

Sean Brace Interviews Kacie McDonnell, She's Still in Kansas City

Former 97.5 The Fanatic host Sean Brace interviews Kacie McDonnell. She of course was the one time morning traffic reporter (and much more) for FOX 29's Good Day. Kacie bolted to Kansas City at the height of her popularity in Philly to follow her then boyfriend (Georgia Bulldog quarterback) Aaron Murray who was drafted into the NFL by the Kansas City Chiefs. Well following their breakup, Kacie remained in Kansas City and gives her fans a career update. By the way Kacie is now dating Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer.

Keith Olbermann Sums Up the Arrogance of New Yorkers

I am not generally a fan of Mr. Olbermann because he comes off as arrogant himself. But he nails it and sums up my general feeling of our neighbors to the north in New York City. The insulting way New Yorkers think and their belief that they are better, smarter, or more important than anyone outside of New York makes me ill. It's one reason I don't trust the owner of our basketball team the Philadelphia 76ers, one Joshua Harris. One day it could be the Newark New Jersey Sixers. He does own the New Jersey Devils hockey team too. But that's a story for another day. The bottom line is this: Soccer will never be a popular sport among Americans no matter what the New York Times says. Any sport that ends with a tie and everyone is OK with it, is a sport that's not for me. My apologies to the Sons of Ben and fans of the Philadelphia Union. Your stadium in Chester is awesome.

By the way Tony Bruno of 97.5 The Fanatic makes a regular Friday appearance on the Keith Olbermann show. So all in all Mr. Olbermann can't be all bad. Tony's take on the DeSean Jackson situation with the Philadelphia Eagles from a few weeks ago is spot on. See both videos below.

Mike Missanelli Returns to 97.5 The Fanatic, Will @Deadspin Retract the Story?

Mike Missanelli gave a statement today on the air on his suspension after being off the air for a week. He addresses why he was absent and apologizes for anyone who may have been offended. He also gave a history of the listener (troll) that has been harassing him with thousands of emails for four of the five years that he has been part of 97.5 The Fanatic. He categorically denied that he is homophobic.

Missanelli went on to say that the listener communicated with him that it would be impossible for authorities to find out the emailer's identity; who refers to himself  as "The Rock" (because he resembles the actor and wrestler). He regrets the perception that the emails that were sent to the Deadspin website implied that he was homophobic. He also stated that he would no longer communicate with listener's through email following this experience.

Mike Missanelli Has Been Suspended from 97.5 The Fanatic

Mike Missanelli, the afternoon host at 97.5 The Fanatic has been suspended indefinitely for using homophobic language in an email exchange with a listener who was not a fan of the host.

The suspension came after several emails between Missanelli and the listener were made public by the website Deadspin. Mikey Miss repeatedly called the listener a "homosexual."

Former KYW-TV Channel 3 news anchor Larry Mendte, who knows a thing or two about emails, came to Missanelli's defense in a PhillyMag.com article and says the suspended sports-talk host was “trying to be clinical” with the email troll.

After the announcement of his suspension, Missanelli issued a statement apologizing for his actions.

97.5 The Fanatic Shuffles Lineup featuring Sean Brace and Jon Marks

97.5 The Fanactic (WPEN FM) has announced a new line-up starting today.

Following ESPN radio's 'Mike and Mike In the Morning' will be Tony Bruno (going solo) from 10-12; The new Jon and Sean Show from 12-2; Mike Missanelli stays put from 2-6; Joe DeCamara is joined by former NFL player Brian Baldinger from 6-7. Baldy was hosting from 12-2 with Marks.

Night lineup remains in tact with Tom Bryne 7-10 and Harry Mayes 10-midnight. We can assume that "Baseball with Dutch" with former Phillies' catcher Darren Daulton will return from 6-7 once baseball season begins.

Brace and Marks, former producers for the Mike Missanelli afternoon show have been hosting Saturday mornings at the stations for quite a few months. They are also regular guests on Fox 29's Good Day Philadelphia. They bring a lot of energy to the airwaves and was just wondering what took management so long to make this move....

950 ESPN and WPEN is Now Family Radio WKDN

Family Radio will return to Philadelphia tonight at 6 PM when 950 ESPN (WPEN-AM) drops its simulcast of sports radio 97.5 The Fanatic. The new station is an old friend to the Philly area as the Family Radio  religious format returns along with their signature call letters WKDN. Their new home will be now occupy 950 AM.

950 ESPN simulcasted most of the programs on 97.5 The Fanatic, however there were a few exceptions like The Herd with Colin Cowherd. Also in the mix are Flyers hockey (if or when it returns) and 76ers basketball. Both teams' games broadcast on 97.5 The Fanatic, however if there is a conflict when both teams play on the same night 950 ESPN is no longer available. The hockey games will be pushed over to WMMR. There might be more of a conflict than what otherwise might be the case if the strike shorten NHL season returns. Not sure how that will go over with the rockers on 'MMR.

WKDN for many years broadcasts from the 106.9 FM frequency with offices and transmitter in Camden County. That station now features Talk station IQ 106.9 (WWIQ) and their mostly national syndicated programs with hosts Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh and local morning show with former TV anchorman Larry Mendte.
