FOX 29 Alex Holley and Lauren Johnson Are Daily News Sexy Singles

FOX 29's fairly new morning anchors make this year's Daily New Sexy Singles. Alex Holley of Good Day Philadelphia who replaced Sheinelle Jones is featured along with Lauren Johnson of the station's 4:30-7:00 Fox Morning News program. Holley arrived from Myrtle Beach and Johnson from Orlando.

Sean Brace Interviews Kacie McDonnell, She's Still in Kansas City

Former 97.5 The Fanatic host Sean Brace interviews Kacie McDonnell. She of course was the one time morning traffic reporter (and much more) for FOX 29's Good Day. Kacie bolted to Kansas City at the height of her popularity in Philly to follow her then boyfriend (Georgia Bulldog quarterback) Aaron Murray who was drafted into the NFL by the Kansas City Chiefs. Well following their breakup, Kacie remained in Kansas City and gives her fans a career update. By the way Kacie is now dating Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer.

Sheinelle Jones Says Goodbye to ‘Good Day Philadelphia’

Sheinelle Jones tearfully bids farewell to FOX 29 and her co-anchor, Mike Jerrick, on “Good Day Philadelphia.” Sheinelle is signing off to spend more time with her family. I am a big fan of Sheinelle, Mike, Sue Serio, and Kacie McDonnell. They simply had great chemistry.

Steve Keeley Survival of Snow Plow Attack on Good Day Goes Viral

Fox 29 reporter Steve Keeley has became a viral sensation following the snow plow train  "attack" along a route in Woodstown, N.J. Keeley was unexpectedly hit with an avalanche of snow, but was no worse for wear and continued with the report as if nothing happened at all. Keeley also became a part of David Letterman's Top 10 List. That list featured in the third video of this post was disappointingly not funny. Good pub for Steve and the station anyway.

Chris Murphy Joins Good Day Philadelphia

Chris Murphy has been named co-anchor of the early edition of “Good Day Philadelphia” from 4:25 – 6 a.m., announced Jim Driscoll, the station’s Vice President and News Director.

In making the announcement, Driscoll stated, “Chris is the perfect addition to our dynamic morning team, whose energy, chemistry and camaraderie is unmatched. His personality is contagious and we can’t wait to introduce him to our loyal ‘Good Day Philadelphia’ viewers.”

Most recently, Murphy served as weekend anchor and reporter for KGTV-TV in San Diego. Prior to that, he was a reporter for KNSD-TV in San Diego. Murphy has held news anchor and reporter positions at various stations, including KGW-TV and KPTV-TV in Portland, OR, KRON-TV in San Francisco, KTVN-TV in Reno, NV and KIEM-TV in Eureka, CA. Earlier in his career, Murphy hosted “Travel Gear” on The Travel Channel. He began his career as a newsroom intern for KGET-TV in Bakersfield, CA.

Iain Page Offically Named Evening Anchor at Fox 29

Iain Page is officially named co-anchor of FOX 29’s 5,6 and 10 p.m. weekday newscasts, announced Jim Driscoll, Vice President and News Director of the station.

In making the announcement, Driscoll stated, “Iain’s on-air presence, engagement with viewers and versatility made him the right choice for this premier role on our evening news.”

Most recently, Page has been anchoring FOX 29’s 5 p.m. weekday newscast, since he joined the station in February 2013.  For the last few months, he has also been co-anchoring the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts.

Danielle Vollmar Joins Fox 29 for Weekend Weather

See UPDATE below Welcome back Danielle Vollmar, who leaves Dallas's KDAF-TV to return home to do weekend weather at FOX 29.

She tells a little about herself via facebook. "I joined the morning show Eye Opener in late November 2011. I am one of the hosts and also am a fill-in meteorologist on KDAF/CW33 in Dallas. Eye Opener can not only be seen on the CW in Dallas, but in Houston, Miami, Portland, and Philly (my hometown) on WPHL17! Previously I was at Fox 25 first as the weekend meteorologist beginning in June 2009, but was promoted to Morning Anchor and Reporter in May 2011. I enjoyed being in the community and co-anchoring Good Day Oklahoma. Before moving to Oklahoma City, I worked as the Mid-Day Meteorologist at WBOC-TV in Salisbury, MD. I got to fly in Chopper 16 doing weather broadcasts from the sky with Captain Willie and Chopper Chuck!"

Kacie McDonnell Keeps the Traffic Hot on FOX 29's Good Day Philadelphia

Kacie McDonnell joined the FOX 29 team in August, 2012, as the "Good Day" Traffic Reporter

So how did she get to FOX 29 anyway?

Apparently morning anchor Mike Jerrick took a real liking to McDonnell after seeing a local car dealership's commercial starring Kacie. The powers that be auditioned McDonnell by having her meet Jerrick live on the air. McDonnell's les than 15 minutes of fame have turned out to be a winner for local early risers TV viewers. I'm sure her role at the station will be extended in the near future.
